The Skeletal Backson

Built like a work knife. Carries like a ghost. 🐏🗡️

The Skeletal Backson is a stripped-down sheepsfoot blade designed for pure utility and everyday performance. Clean lines, controlled cutting power, and a lightweight skeletal frame make this knife a serious tool for people who actually use their gear instead of just photographing it next to coffee beans and leather notebooks.

Available in either dependable 1095 high carbon steel or brutally tough 80CrV2 steel, the Backson is built to handle real-world abuse while maintaining a wicked working edge. Whether you’re slicing cardboard, trimming material, cutting rope, tackling shop work, or handling day-to-day carry tasks, this blade was designed to stay useful long after lesser knives retire to the junk drawer.

The sheepsfoot blade profile offers exceptional control with a strong straight cutting edge and lowered tip, making it ideal for precision work, utility cuts, and safe controlled slicing. It’s a blade shape loved by tradesmen, outdoorsmen, and anyone who appreciates function over flash.

Protected with a rugged Cerakote finish, the blade shrugs off corrosion, wear, and the chaos of everyday carry while keeping a clean tactical appearance that looks just as good clipped into work pants as it does riding in a field pack.

Its defining feature is the lightweight skeletal handle construction, reducing carry weight while opening the door for endless customization. Wrap it in paracord for extra grip and emergency utility, leather for a classic look, or build out your own custom handle setup if your workshop projects tend to escalate after midnight.

The Skeletal Backson is lean, capable, and unapologetically practical.
A knife made for cutting things... not corners. 🔥

All of our knives are named after cryptids. The Backson is a made-up monster invented by Rabbit in The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh (Disney TV series, late 1980s). It’s meant to scare Pooh and the others into being more careful—and also to explain problems without taking responsibility. Rabbit describes the Backson as a dangerous, sneaky creature that: Steals things, Causes messes & Is always “up to no good.” He warns everyone to watch out… even though the Backson doesn’t actually exist. Eventually Pooh accidentally becomes the “Backson” by following Rabbit’s description too literally. The group panics because Pooh matches the vague warnings. The reveal shows the Backson was never real—just fear, misunderstanding, and projection. The Backson is a metaphor for blaming an outside threat instead of owning mistakes, fear of the unknown, how rumors turn nothing into something scary, & groupthink and overreaction

It’s basically Winnie-the-Pooh’s version of a moral fable:

“If you convince people there’s a monster, they’ll find one—even if it’s just their friend in a silly costume.”
